ISLAMABAD – On Wednesday, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in the federal capital directed former PTI Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi to appear via video link on September 7.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued the order and instructed jail officials to facilitate the video link appearance. The directive was issued during proceedings related to a vandalism case involving Khan, Qureshi, and others.
During the hearing, Judge Supra inquired whether Shah Mahmood Qureshi was a convicted prisoner and which facility he was held in. The PTI lawyer clarified that Qureshi was not a convicted prisoner and was currently detained in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.
In response, the judge ordered the jail superintendent to ensure that Qureshi, along with Khan, appears via video link for the next court session.
The hearing of the vandalism case was subsequently adjourned until September 7. It is noteworthy that two separate vandalism cases have been filed against Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and other PTI workers at the Khanna police station.
