Pakistan confirms name squads for Australia, Zimbabwe white ball series.
LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricket selectors on Wednesday announced 15-member squads for their tours to Australia and Zimbabwe, both of which will see Pakistan play three ODIs as well as three T20s.
Australia is scheduled to visit between 4-18 November. Other matches will be played between 24 November to 5 December in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
The white-ball captain will be announced by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in a media conference at Lahore on Sunday at 3:30 pm.
Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, who were rested for the last two Tests against England, will return for the Australia series but be rested for the Zimbabwe tour.
Mohammad Rizwan will be available for the Australia matches and Zimbabwe ODIs but rested from the Zimbabwe T20Is.
The present rotation policy of the selectors and offers chances to local performers in consonance with team strategy for the ICC Champions Trophy and beyond.
The remaining uncapped player for ODI side consists of Aamir Jamal, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Haseebullah, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Saim Ayub. Jahandad Khan and Salman Ali Agha have debuted to T20I.
Kamran Ghulam, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Sufyan Moqim earn their first cap for their national side, having played for the side in limited-overs internationals. Kamran had replaced Haris Sohail as a concussion substitute in an ODI against New Zealand in January 2023, while Omair and Sufyan made their T20I debut for the side during the Asian Games men’s cricket competition against Hong Kong.
Mohammad Hasnain, who featured for the Champions One-Day Cup in Faisalabad last month and took 17 wickets, is also included in the ODI team. He had played for Pakistan in an ODI back in January 2023, when Pakistan played New Zealand.
Except for Babar, Naseem, Rizwan, Salman, and Shaheen, four other players have been selected in the ODI and T20I squad. Those players are Arafat Minhas, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, and Muhammad Irfan Khan.
Only the above ODIs will be put in the reserve list for T20I: Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Faisal Akram, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, and Saim Ayub. The add-ons will be Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufyan Moqim, and Usman Khan.
Seven members of the ODI side-Babar Azam, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi-will depart for Melbourne on Monday, 28 October. The remaining members of the ODI side will leave on 29 October. White-ball coach of Pakistan, Gary Kirsten, will see the players in Melbourne on 28 October.

Other players whom Ahmed Daniyal, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, Mohammad Hasnain, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Tayyab Tahir had been picked in both whites and colored fabric.
Pacer Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Faisal Akram, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, and Shahnawaz Dahani played ODIs and would be relieved by Arafat Minhas, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, and Usman Khan in the short form of the game.
They four are Haseebullah, Haris Rauf, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Salman Ali Agha, who will go on to the squads in a full-fledged manner since the beginning of the Australian tour until the end of the Zimbabwean tour.
