Explosion near Karachi airport results in one death and eleven injuries.

KARACHI: Rescue officials reported that an oil tanker explosion near Karachi airport on Sunday night resulted in at least one death and eleven injuries.

After being transported to Jinnah Hospital, the injured were said to be stable. At least eight nearby cars were also damaged by the explosion, which also set fire to the oil tanker that was supplying gasoline to the airport.

Twenty five minutes after the explosion, fire department vehicles arrived on the scene and put out the flames using foam. Residents of the region came out to aid, while law enforcement personnel and emergency services were also there. People within the airport were urged to remain there until further notice as it was put on emergency alert. A bomb disposal crew was summoned to the airport location to conduct more investigation as the surrounding area was sealed off. Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, has requested a thorough report on the incident from the Malir SSP. “We need to find out the truth,” the statement stated, directing officials to give affected parties the best medical care possible.
