Saudi Arabia and Pakistan decide to strengthen their commercial relations.

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, President Asif Ali Zardari reiterated his goal to turn Pakistan-Saudi relations into a long-term strategic and economic partnership, emphasizing that such cooperation would further strengthen ties between the two friendly countries.

He underlined the long-standing and proven partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia while speaking to a team of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in Islamabad, which was led by Saudi Minister for Investment, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.

Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was also commended by the President for his visionary leadership.  He thanked the Kingdom for continuing to support Pakistan during difficult times and praised the amazing accomplishments Saudi Arabia was making under Vision 2030.

According to Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic location, as well as its potential for renewable energy and natural resources.

He stated that his delegation would sign 25 agreements in various sectors to advance economic relations between the two friendly countries as part of Saudi Arabia’s plans to invest in Pakistan’s mining and infrastructure. He conveyed the hope that the accords’ signature would usher in a new phase of economic cooperation between the two nations.

Increased cooperation in the fields of information technology and agriculture was stressed by both parties.
