US lawmakers seek an update on Imran Khan’s incarceration in a letter to Blinken.

ISLAMABAD: US lobbying firms for former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan have been highlighting his detention in Washington. Now, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that US Congressmen have written to Secretary of State Antony Blinken requesting an official update on PTI founder Imran Khan’s imprisonment.

Following their accusation that the US was part of a foreign plot to overthrow his government via a confidence vote, Imran Khan’s party is now turning to the US for assistance.

The embattled party declared that US Congressmen had formally requested an update on Khan’s incarceration—he had been detained for over a year—from Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Congressman Jack Bergman and Tom Suozzi, the chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, wrote the letter, according to a social media post from the PTI USA account. Another image of the purported letter surfaced online.
